Chalice Lighter

You ask, "What is a Chalice Lighter?" Our congregation has historically held Chalice Lighter status by having at least 1/3 of our members on a list of donors who aid those in our world-wide network of UU churches in times of need. To this end, letters are sent out three times a year requesting donations of $20 or more to be pooled for giving funds as needed.

FISH

It's unreasonable that here in Douglas County we have children, indeed families, who have hunger. Thankfully our church body has recognized the need faced every day by hundreds of folks who are not as fortunate as you and I are. We as a church donate monthly to help folks in need of food.

When we meet in person we have a special collection to help. Some of us donate food, some donate money and all the collection goes directly to the FISH collection point on Jerry's Drive behind Costco and is ultimately distributed by volunteers.
